Van Project - She’s Done!

Van Life, Promaster conversion
Van Project
Plain Jane

She's a Plain Jane but I am in love! I couldn't be more pleased with how everything came together and all the amazing features that Dustyn got into this tiny little space.
Thanks Ross Landino (find him on Instagram @rosslandino) for taking so many pictures and for sharing them!

Living Room - Captain chairs on swivels for the living space here. The footrest for the drivers side is beautiful and my favorite feature. This chair fit comfortably under the Corian countertop in the kitchen. The passenger seat has an optional lift up table off the sink side cabinets to provide an Office Space work top or a dining table.
Here's a view of that pretty footrest and of the side table up. This side table is built with 200 pound brackets and a release that keeps it easy to have locked in place or folded away. It's an ingenious addition that adds a laptop working station area or a food area prep or just a dinner table/popcorn table for when the TV is swung out.

Side Door slider Entrance that has a doorway stop at just to the edge of the sink cabinet or all the way open to access the water tanks. There is also a mosquito net for this door that folds back out of the way or zips to keep the bugs out. What I don't have a picture of is the awesome step that pulls out, welded into the frame just below the door. It makes a huge difference stepping into and especially out of the van through this entrance.

van life, van conversion, thermostat, power outletsKitchen - Full view of the Kitchen with two burner propane cook top and fridge. Cabinets above and a spice rack. The thermostat and ceiling vent fan remotes are just to the left of the spice rack. There are under cabinet lights here in addition to the overhead ceiling lights. And several outlets with 120 watt, 12V and USB options along this entire wall.

Bathroom - yep it's hidden in here! There's a cassette toilet, yet to be loaded and used, but this is a 250 pound slider drawer that tucks the toilet away, but still provides the option.

Bedroom - this is such a comfortable mattress! A short full, 12 inch foam mattress. What that does mean is a slightly diagonal sleeping, but the dog is mostly accommodating for this. Here are a few more pictures, including the over the bed lights, which are touch on to blue light or touch again to full reading light, with an adjustable angle. These lights also have USB ports.

Opposite of the lights is a large TV, with a USB Roku. The TV is mounted on a pivoting wall mount, with a lock option so it's stable during driving. The Roku is marginal with a phone hot spot, but I'm planning to improve this with a JetPack mobile hotspot, which will stream at much higher rates. I did just change the bedding to a bold, bright Bohemian print that is a splash of color in this white space.

Behind the bed space, with the doors open is probably the most creative Shower space - all the credit to Dustyn on this one. There are two rods with eye hooks on the ends (extendable painter poles with dowels and eye hooks) that have a storage space in the garage ceiling that connect to each of the hooks on the back doors.

This will hold the shower curtain in place for a private shower with the tankless, instant hot water heater and portable shower mount. There are  additional storage here on the driver side door, with drain holes in the bottom, to store the curtain, shower hooks and toiletries.

The Garage space under the bed. There are ceiling clips here that hold the Shower rods and also the Awning rod.

Power - Here are some  pictures of the Power - solar, propane, battery and alternator re-charge. The two propane bottles are on a dual regulator in a drawer with a sliding lock to keep closed and to lock open for changing the bottles. Behind the bottles are the two batteries. These are below the bed, on the left garage space.

Inside the van, below the kitchen space, are the remaining Power modules, including the solar panel charging station, a master power switch (to switch all sources of power off), the isolator and the furnace. We have an onshore power option (and water) on the external driver side of the van.

Here is a shot of the roof with two ceiling vents (remote control, electric or manual power on these), the roof rack and the Solar Panels.

Extra shots - water tanks from the outside view with drains and all the good good and inside access as well. The Dimmer and light switch for the ceiling lights.

The Awning in a closed position, this is so easy to roll out with legs that lock into mounts on the side of the van, or directly to the ground.
